Instructions

  1. Prepare your dipping items (e.g., strawberries, banana slices, marshmallows, cake cubes) and arrange them on a platter or in small bowls for easy access.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium-low heat until it just begins to simmer (do not boil). Remove from heat.
  3. Add the chopped chocolate (or chocolate chips) to the warm cream. Let it sit for 1-2 minutes to soften, then stir gently until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract, pinch of salt, and liqueur (if using) until well combined. Taste and adjust flavor if desired.
  5. Transfer the chocolate mixture to a fondue pot or a heatproof bowl. If using a fondue pot, light the burner underneath to keep it warm; if using a bowl, serve immediately or reheat as needed.
  6. Serve with skewers or forks for dipping. Dip your chosen items into the warm chocolate fondue and enjoy this decadent treat!
